The existing house

The old plan is a curb, a step, or a tub you no longer want to climb, sitting in a room that faces the water. Families either live with the step or accept a medical-looking shower that fights the rest of the house.

Windermere baths on the lake already have a view. A roll-in shower here has to keep that view and the angles of the room. A fiberglass transfer unit would throw the house away.

How this job is built

Aging in place is drawn into the renovation, not bolted on after the tile. At Lake Butler we followed the existing angles, built the wet plane without a curb, and kept the ceiling and the view as part of the architecture. Locks, lighting, and leak detection can go in while that bath is open. They are not a separate technology contract.

The wet room is permitted work: waterproofing, slope, and a linear drain, inspected like any other bath. License CGC1531832.
