Aging-in-place remodeling in Winter Park

A traditional street face, and a house behind it that has to keep working. The Winter Park bath we built is a primary bath, not a curbless wet room.

Winter Park primary bath, part of the whole-house renovation behind the oaks

The existing house

The kitchen gets a new plan. The bath is left, or it is tiled without asking how the room will be used in ten years. A roll-in that was never built should not be advertised as this job.

Older Winter Park houses hide the real work behind the oaks. If the kitchen, the living rooms, and the primary bath are opened once, the path through the house, the door widths, and the lighting can be decided then. Coming back later means opening finished walls.

How this job is built

We walked the Winter Park house before anyone sketched. The primary bath was drawn with the cream kitchen and the living rooms. This shower is not a roll-in, and this page does not call it one. What belongs in the renovation, if you want it, is a lit path to that bath, a door you can actually pass, and blocking before the tile. The curbless baths we can show are Lake Butler, Reunion, and Orlando.

FAQ

Permits, time, and the first visit.

Is the Winter Park bath a roll-in shower?
No. It is the primary bath in the whole-house renovation. The roll-in and curbless baths are Reunion, Lake Butler in Windermere, and Orlando.
Why have an aging-in-place page if it is not a wet room?
Because the useful moment is while the Winter Park house is already open. Door widths, the path, and the lighting are decided then, or they are a second renovation.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, under Florida license CGC1531832. The first meeting is a free on-site consultation.
